Something For All Producer Levels!
Increase your knowledge of maple syrup production-Saturday,November 18, Sinsinawa Conference Center, Sinsinawa, WI, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
This conference is designed to offer education to potentialproducers, backyard hobby producers, and current maple producers in thetri-state region. The aim is to increase knowledge of maple syrup production asa viable non-timber forest product, to increase income from forestlands andassist producers with adoption of new technology etc. Spend the day with localmaple syrup producers! The conference is being offered at a reduced rate because ofa Specialty Crop Block grant from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and LandStewardship.

11:05 – 11:40 am Session 3 How maple sap moves in a mapletree by Eric Randall, Past President of NAMSC, NY Producer
11:45 – 12:20 pm Session 4 Maple equipment (how to scaleequipment to # taps, appropriate equipment for # of taps, and how to ensureappropriate room for expansion of operation by Joe Polak, Maple Hollow
12:20 – 1:30 pm Lunch (Turkey or Veg Lasagna) ****Preregistration required – See Below ****
1:35 – 2:10 pm Session 5 Value Added Producer Grants, SAREGrants and other funding options for value added maple products by ShannonHoyle, ISU Value Added Agriculture Program Specialist
2:15 – 2:50 pm Session 6 Sap extraction options (tubing vsbuckets) by Joe Polak, Maple Hollow
