Crop Planning Workshops

The Iowa Valley RC&D inpartnership with Tammy Stotts', IDALS' Farm to School Coordinator will behosting three crop planning workshops and discussions this winter.

Learn abouttips and tools to increase production, expand your markets and plan for the2018 growing season. Workshop topics will include: calculating seeds andtransplants, record keeping, succession planning, field layout, rows vs beds,expanding and diversifying yields, and selling to institutions (emphasis willbe on K-12 Farm To School programs). 

Iowa Valley RC&D Food Systems Director, Jason Grimm, will guide theworkshop with case study scenarios, example tools, and discussion betweenattendees.

Please see an attached workshop flyer with all theinformation. Trainings will be:

  • Saturday, January 13 in Harlan at FarmTable Delivery, 10 am to noon.
  • Tuesday, January 23 in Independence at the Heartland Acres Event Center, 1;30-3:30 pm
  • We are finalizing plans for a third workshop in the Des Moines area the first half of February
